The Road Trip Effect in Google Maps
The Road Trip Effect is an OS X application which allows you to create map route animations of journeys. But it's limited to using a straight line between 2 points. A plugin could be written for Firefox that uses the 'directions' feature in Google Maps to output a movie file.
